Can I receive a treatment with a cold sore?

No, cold sores are caused by a highly contagious virus called the herpes simplex virus (HSV). They resemble blister like clusters that in most cases turn into scabs. Cold sores most commonly appear inside or around the lips, but can spread to the nose, eyes and other parts of the face. Due to their highly contagious nature, you MUST reschedule your appointment until the lesion has fully healed. Stimulating treatments, such as Chemical Peels and Microneedling can cause a cold sore to surface. If you have a history of one or more cold sores, it is required that you start an antiviral prior to stimulating treatments. Please relay this in the area provided on your consent form, so Kendall can ensure you have a safe treatment plan in place!

Can I receive a treatment with a spray tan/ self tanner?

It is highly recommended that you do not have a spray tan or use self tanners on the area to be treated for at least 2-weeks prior to your appointment. Spray tans, tanning drops or tanning lotions temporarily alter the color of your skin, which does not give an accurate depiction of your skin phototype (skin color). Knowing your skin phototype during the skin analysis portion of your facial is vital to ensure a safe and effective treatment plan and any risks associated with pigmentation and scarring. Also, many self tanning formulations are highly comedogenic (pore clogging). If you struggle with mild, moderate or severe acne, it is necessary to stop using self tanners for best results during your clearing journey. *If you are receiving a Skin Pen® Microneedling Treatment or The Perfect Derma™ Peel Treatment, you MUST stop the use of spray tans/ self tanners on the area to be treated 3-4 weeks prior to your appointment.

How do I prep my skin before my treatment?

Please keep the area being treated away from excessive sun exposure, you may not receive a treatment with an active sunburn. Accutane must be stopped for at least 6-months before you are cleared for any skin treatments. If the use of prescription retinoids are in place, please stop 3-5 days prior to your treatment. If you receive botox and/or filler injections, please ensure that they are scheduled 2-weeks prior. Filler must be done 4-weeks prior to your Microneedling Treatments. *For advanced treatments, such as Chemical Peels and Microneedling, you will be given specific instructions on how to properly prep your skin.

How do I care for my skin after my treatment?

Do not workout or expose the treated area to the sun. You are more than welcome to workout before your treatment though! It’s always advised to have clean pillow cases and facial towels ready post treatment. *For advanced treatments, such as Chemical Peels and Microneedling, you will be given specific instructions on how to care for your skin.
